Gable End Bracing

Gable ends are one of the most vulnerable areas during a severe wind event. Typically, a gable end is constructed using wood frame even if your home is concrete block. The bottom chord of the gable, where the wood frame sits on the top of the concrete block is determined to be the weakest area of a gable. It is very important to install proper connectors on the bottom chord. There are several methods to achieve this retrofit at a very inexpensive cost. When we brace a gable, we strengthen the bottom chord, gable wall, as well as the roof trusses. This creates a continuous load path called "C" bracing. As stated before there are other methods to achieve the same goal. Please contact us and we can discuss in more detail.
